NATURE’S CREST Home is situated in striking wooded grounds in the suburban town of Oto-Awori Town/ Ijanikin on the Lagos-Badagry Express way in Lagos State, Nigeria.  It is a suitable twin building and an attached bungalow with a spacious facility for residential, work, social and recreational program.

The location is a cul-de-sac and therefore offers privacy and security of movement within the compound. 

INDOORS
A home, with contemporary furnishing and decoration, warm, friendly and relaxing with a thoughtful color scheme to aid patients with sensory difficulties; a courtyard which is accessible to all, a front garden and a back garden.

  • 20 single rooms and 15 shared double rooms with en-suite shower and toilet facilities, 2 lounges, a communal living room, a communal dining room.

  • Each room is furnished with a single bed, side locker, chest of drawers and a chair.

  • The communal living room / lounge has a flat screen TV, music, and other recreational gadgets.

  • Fully equipped kitchen with adequate storage facilities

  • Fully equipped launderette is also available.

  • A small library with computer facility; Computer knowledge, numeracy and literacy activities are very engaging.
OUTDOORS
  • A spacious garden offering therapeutic leisure and gardening as an occupation.

  • An open courtyard offering an informal sitting and a choice for patients who may want to be on their own.

  • A shallow water fish pond which is secured and provides therapy, leisure and occupation. Water can be very therapeutic and the sheer pleasure of feeding fingerlings and watch them grow to big edible fishes can be very therapeutic. The fish pond is dotted with benches and sitting arrangement which allows for one to one therapy sessions. Fish from the pond will provide a nutritious meal for the residents.

The Activity Centre
This Centre is equipped to provide leisure and vocational training.
The activity centre houses, an exercise studio, a gymnasium, a training room, a conference room, a tuck shop, a library, computer literacy room, a games room, art and grafts room, toilet facilities, a weaving/tailoring room and other leisure activities.

  • Indoor games like Monopoly, Draft, Ludo, Ayo, Lego, Chess and family games.
  • Indoor table tennis, snooker, hand ball , boxing punch bag etc.
  • Basket and mat weaving, Batik, tie and dye, Greeting cards making.
  • Tailoring, jewelry making from metal wire and beads.
  • Football and Volleyball

 

The residents will also be encouraged to learn and engage in vocational training like

  • Tailoring, jewelry making from metal wire and beads.  


It  also provide social activities such as

  • Role acting, drama, painting, writing/reading, interactive skills, riddles, dancing and social evenings, business and information talks and pull up sessions. 

  • Pull up sessions allow patients to give candid opinions about the home, their food, their care, staff members and any issues of concern. This is a vital program which will be useful for quality assurance.

The tuck shop provides the life skills of shopping.
Out of home activities such as excursions, factory visits and picnics are also part of our programs. 
Activities are planned and the outcomes/feedbacks are reviewed and monitored on a time scale, to enable integration back to the community. 
Finally, there are outdoor benches and chairs in shaded areas which form part of the overall rehab and therapeutic concept.
The garden is dotted with garden chairs to provide a truly therapeutic environment.
